The Art Institute of Vancouver's Library is proud to offer a collection of excellent online databases for you to access 24 x 7 from school or from home.

**Please note that you must obtain the necessary Access USER IDs & Passwords from the library to use these resources.  Please drop by at any Art Institute of Vancouver Library location, call, or email the library staff to obtain the necessary information.** 

• Berg Fashion Library - Please contact library for access codes.
The Berg Fashion Library is a unique online portal which offers fully cross-searchable access to an expanding range of Berg content collections – including the Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion online, e-books, reference works, images, and much more.

• BUBL Information Service
  A catalogue of select internet resources that cover all academic subject areas. Users can search by alphabet, subject, country, media type, or Dewey Decimal Classification number for a wealth of topics ranging from computing, to animals, art, and linguistics.

• Canadian Encyclopedia
  The Canadian Encyclopedia (TCE) provides comprehensive, objective, and accurate information on Canada for students, readers, and scholars across Canada and throughout the world on topics including business, biographies, technology, music, film, and much more. TCE includes the Encyclopedia of Music in Canada which covers the historical and current aspects of popular, folk, religious, concert, and other forms of Canadian music.

• Chronicle of Higher Education - Full access available from Campus only. Limited remote/home access
The Chronicle is the top destination for news, advice, and jobs for people in academe. The Chronicle's Web site features the complete contents of the latest issue; daily news and advice columns; thousands of current job listings; an archive of previously published content; vibrant discussion forums; and career-building tools such as online CV management, salary databases, and more.

With easy access to over 551trusted titles from over 70 of the world's leading academic publishers, covering every major subject, Credo is the ideal place to start your research.

• Culinary Arts Collection - Please contact library for access codes.
The Culinary Arts Collection includes 250 major cooking and nutrition magazines as well as reference content from Delmar, Cengage Learning. Coverage includes thousands of searchable recipes, restaurant reviews, and industry information.

• Culturegrams - Please contact library if you need information as to how to create a user account.
A general reference for cultural information that includes facts, statistics, photographs, interviews, and even recipes from the provinces of Canada, the states of America, and countries across the globe.

• Digital Tutors - Please contact library if you need information as to how to create a user account
Access over 11,000 video training tutorials on Maya, ZBrush, Soft Image, Photoshop, Illustrator, and more for your design and digital media needs. To create your personal account User ID: current Ai Vancouver students, faculty, and staff must use their Ai email accounts (aii.edu / stu.aii.edu). Click on "Create an Account" and use the temporary password that is emailed to you by DT to log into your new account.

This comprehensive and current selection of scholarly e-books provides anytime/anywhere access to information in a broad range of subjects.

• Encyclopedia Mythica
The Encyclopedia Mythica is an on-line encyclopedia on mythology, folklore, and legend. It contains hundreds of definitions of gods and goddesses, supernatural beings, legendary creatures and monsters from all over the world." There are over 200 mythology images on the site.

• Firstcom Music - Please contact library for access codes
  UNLIMITED downloads and full access to Firstcom’s library of over 140,000 post production music tracks. Clips may be included in internet sharing, webcasts, postcasts, cellular and mobile devices and social networks; non-broadcast audio, video, digital media; corporate intranet, and/or closed circuit communications productions.   Over 500K high quality stock imagery. Students may download up to 50 high-resolution images and an unlimited number of low-resolution imagery per quarter. Images are for educational purposes only and using them for any commercial (even non-profit) or non-coursework or non-portfolio related purposes is strictly prohibited.

• Gnomon Workshop - Access available through myaicampus
  Access over 300 online tutorials – that’s over 1000 hours of training – taught by the best in Visual Effects, Concept Design, Illustration, Modeling and Sculpture. Users should have javascript enabled, and their browser cookies preferences set to “accept all cookies.”

  History Study Center is a collection of primary and secondary sources on global history from ancient times to the present day.

• H. W. WilsonWeb Omnifile Full Text Select - Please contact library for access codes
  Periodical database that provides full-text articles with their accompanying indexing and abstracts on topics in the arts, applied and pure sciences, social science, education, humanities, legal and business fields. Contains full text of articles from over 2500 publications, some back to 1982.
